SBM Mineral Processing at BAUMA: Successful “Sales Fair”

Those responsible at SBM Mineral Processing are highly satisfied with the results of the last BAUMA. „Everything was just right: The weather, the atmosphere, our products and, of course, the results!” said Managing Director Erwin Schneller in an initial assessment. The Austrians were present in Munich with a team of more than sixty of their own employees from the concrete mixing technology and processing technology divisions. Supported by another eighty product specialists from existing and new dealers – two of them with their own presentations in and around BAUMA – they presented the entire range of SBM solutions for stationary plants and future-oriented mobile technologies.

Of course, the two exhibited world premieres REMAX 600 and DYNAMIX 2500 were in special focus: „When do you ever manage to impress your customers and at the same time leave the competition speechless?”, sales directors Helmut Haider (processing technology) and Ernst Stöttinger (concrete technology) unanimously judged both innovations, which particularly impressed the trade fair audience in Munich with their extraordinary design.

„In fact, we received numerous pre-orders from dealers and end customers for the brand new REMAX 600,” says Helmut Haider about the great interest in the 600 t/h impact crusher, which will be delivered as the new flagship of SBM’s diesel-electric plug-in hybrids from August next year. The existing mobile range was also well received – represented, among others, by a JAWMAX 450 on the company’s own stand, as well as three other plants at Moerschen Mobile Aufbereitung and the Kurz Group’s outdoor demo. „With the immediate post-fair business, we will probably have placed a good half-year’s production at this BAUMA,” Helmut Haider calculates. „While short-term uncertainties regarding the overall economy were still noticeable in the third quarter, our customers in the raw materials and building materials sector are now tackling the challenges with gratifying optimism. If you like, everyone has now fully priced in the crisis.”

Sales director Ernst Stöttinger reports about very concrete projects also for the new semi-mobile concrete mixing plant DYNAMIX 2500: „With the new series, we cover a good 80 % of all applications and requirements in the industry and address completely new target groups”. For many customers in the Central European markets, the DYNAMIX 2500 with its new design offers a highly attractive alternative to stationary technology in the medium performance range. The semi-mobile mixing technology in an easily relocatable, variously expandable design now makes the DYNAMIX 2500 interesting for many concrete producers that SBM could not reach so far with its super-mobile EUROMIX series.

The SBM managers, who were able to add a total of five new partners to their worldwide sales and service network at BAUMA, have mixed feelings about the international scope of this year’s trade fair: Customers from the large European and neighbouring markets were very strongly represented. Notwithstanding numerous interested parties from Central and South America, however, the so-called „growth regions” from overseas ­– Asia, the Middle East and Africa seemed clearly underrepresented this year. Despite the literally „Golden Munich Autumn”, which under the motto „Family & Friends” was also used by numerous SBM employees to visit the trade fair at the invitation of the company on the Austrian bank holidays, they therefore also welcome the return to the usual BAUMA spring date in 2025.
