Larger spray width, enhanced operating comfort, and automation

Ludwigshafen, September 02, 2026 – Upgrade for Joseph Vögele AG’s special paver: The new SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet offers up to 8.25 m spray width, precise dosing of small spray quantities, and a spray module with an optional heater for residual emulsion. New Dash 5 technologies ensure high operating comfort, reduced setup times, and automated processes.

Wide range of applications

Spray pavers apply bitumen emulsion and asphalt surface courses in a single pass. This ensures an optimal bond between layers, saving time, material, and costs. With the new SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet Vögele is now presenting a model that offers additional application options, high operating comfort, and new automation solutions. Like its predecessor, the new machine can be used flexibly as a conventional road paver or as a spray paver. As a standard paver, it offers a paving width of up to 9.25 m; as a spray paver, a spray width of up to 8.25 m. That is 2.25 m more than before. This allows construction companies to use the special machine for both municipal applications and highway rehabilitation. The spray module’s insulated emulsion tank has a capacity of 2.100 l, while an optional extra emulsion tank expands capacity up to 7,100 l. Delivering an engine output of 129 kW and a laydown rate of 700 t/h, the SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet is also extremely powerful. Numerous new technologies make everyday work easier for users – such as the ErgoPlus 5 operating concept, push-button commissioning with Paver Access Control (PAC), the optional Light Package Plus, or automation solutions like Smart Pave digital paver control and digital job-site documentation with WPT Paving.

Large spray width and precise dosing of small spray quantities

The SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet is equipped with five spray bars located between, behind, and to the sides of the crawler tracks. This arrangement enables seamless emulsion application, even with varying working widths. With two additional extensions, the maximum spray width of 8.25 m can be achieved. The spray nozzles operate in pulsed mode at a maximum pressure of 3 bars and are available as size 07, 10, and 16 nozzles with throughputs of 70, 100, and 160%, respectively. Optimized calibration ensures extremely precise dosing across the entire spray width – even at low quantities. To keep small emulsion quantities of less than 300 l at temperature until the end of the job, the new model now offers a version with an additional heater. In this way, residual emulsion can also be completely used up even at low spray rates and low ambient temperatures.

New operating concept and greater operating comfort

With the new ErgoPlus 5 operating concept, the SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet is consistently tailored to user needs: Vögele has optimized the driver’s console, simplifying the operation of SprayJet-functions, improving the design, reducing overall height to increase legroom, and integrating additional storage options for items such as smartphones. With the new SmartWheel the spray paver can be finely controlled with exceptional precision. In addition, users can conveniently monitor and operate existing and future digital solutions via the optional touchscreen display. The tank is equipped with a new, high-contrast, high-resolution display so that operators can easily read the values even in strong sunlight. Key functions and displays for the SprayJetmodule can also be accessed via the display on the screed consoles. Additional convenience features include: With Paver Access Control (PAC), users can start up the spray paver at the touch of a button. Using a separate control unit, they can safely and conveniently control all initial steps. On night job sites, the Light Package Plus option ensures shorter set-up times: Two LED spotlights permanently integrated into the roof and canopy illuminate the paver and screed area across the entire pave width. In addition, the new model is also available with a windshield.

New automation solutions

The SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet also supports operators with steering and grade control: The Grade Assist, AutoTrac, and Smart Pave automation solutions control profile paving as well as the direction and width of the Dash 5 paver. Cloud-based Jobsite Intelligence solutions such as Wirtgen Group Performance Tracker (WPT) Paving and the new RoadScan help paving teams collect and analyze relevant paving, temperature, and paver data in real time and optimize the overall paving process.
