The Weir Group is once again attending Bauma, with the ESCO Division and the Minerals Division exhibiting in Hall 6 (A6.137) and Hall 2 (B2.212) respectively. Following is a partial preview of the products on display on the ESCO Division’s booth. Launched at MINExpo in September 2024, the ESCO® Nexsys™ Mining Lip System is our next generation high-performance lip system for rope shovels.
The Nexsys™ Lip System was developed using field data collected from hundreds of rope shovel lip installations worldwide as well as lab simulation and analysis. When properly matched with our customers’ rope shovels and site applications, the new Nexsys™ Lip System will provide the performance needed in today’s mining operations. It also improves site safety with less maintenance and the engineered advancements have greater sustainability than previous designs.
An ESCO® HDPM EX1200 hoe excavator bucket with Nemisys® N70 tooth system will be on display. Weir ESCO delivers a full line of construction, light mining and mining excavator and loader attachments developed to meet the demanding needs of contractors, rental customers, quarry and mining operators – especially in the toughest applications. The comprehensive bucket offering includes standard-duty ditch and clean-out buckets to heavy-duty options to extremeduty buckets with full wear protection for severe abrasion and impact conditions. All tooth style buckets come standard with ESCO’s market leading Ultralok® or Nemisys® tooth systems for exceptional performance.
Also on display on the Weir ESCO booth will be the Ultralok® and the Nemisys® tooth systems. Ultralok® is the leader in high-performance tooth systems for the earthmoving industry. The cost-efficient, low profile Ultralok® tooth system performs in a full range of machine applications. The integrated lock makes it a true two-piece system, reducing inventory over traditional three-piece systems. The system includes a comprehensive package of points and adapters for 6 metric ton to 75 metric ton excavators and 1 cubic meter to 9 cubic meter class wheel loaders.
The Nemisys® tooth system is a field-proven performer with installation on over 950 machines worldwide. The system features an integrated lock for easier and faster removal to minimize machine downtime during maintenance cycles. The hammerless lock provides improved engagement with the nose to significantly reduce the change of point loss and unplanned downtime. As mine and quarry operations seek to maximize efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance safety, advanced datadriven solutions are essential for optimizing equipment performance and overall productivity.
Weir MOTION METRICS™ offers a suite of advanced monitoring solutions designed to provide a continuous, data-driven view of operational efficiency. Using ruggedized cameras and sensors with integrated AI – trained on over a decade of real-world data from across the planet – MOTION METRICS™ delivers actionable alerts that enable operators and management to make informed decisions quickly to prevent equipment damage, increase availability, and minimize downtime due to crusher obstructions or other inefficiencies.
Compatible with all shovel and loader types, ShovelMetrics™ Gen 3 and LoaderMetrics™ Gen 2 respectively feature advanced GET monitoring systems that detect, log, and alert operators to missing GET components automatically. This capability helps personnel identify and divert contaminated loads before they lead to costly equipment damage or crusher jams. ShovelMetrics™ Gen 3 also includes real-time payload monitoring feedback for consistent load optimization, along with enhanced tooth-wear monitoring that tracks individual wear rates, leading to optimal changeout schedules, mitigating unplanned maintenance. This predictive capability reduces the risk of lip or adapter damage, extending the lifespan of critical components.
On the belt, BeltMetrics™ Gen 2 provides continuous particle size analysis and volume monitoring to help your operations staff identify and react to material flow changes quickly. By proactively addressing upstream blockages and adjusting crusher settings, operations can finally measure and manage processing consistency. For drill and blast efficiency improvements, PortaMetrics™ Gen 2 is a revolutionary handheld fragmentation analysis device that delivers AI-driven particle size distribution reports in seconds, revolutionizing blast analysis. This highly durable, easy-to-use 3D camera features a large scratch-resistant touchscreen and never needs calibration. Just point and capture high-resolution 3D image data, and PortaMetrics™ Gen 2 delivers comprehensive fragmentation reports, eliminating the need for manual sieving or scaling objects.
With a longer battery life, expanded storage, and improved performance over its predecessor, PortaMetrics™ Gen 2 is the ideal solution for measuring blast results or verifying material size specifications for any sized operation. By working with customers to understand their specific challenges and goals, MOTION METRICS can increase performance with integrated, AI-driven monitoring solutions across key operational touchpoints. From blasting to extraction, to haulage, to processing— MOTION METRICS™ solutions enhance operational awareness and drive measurable productivity gains. With detailed, on-demand performance reports and dedicated customer-success teams, Weir MOTION METRICS™ helps mines and quarries lower costs and become safer by delivering unprecedented operational awareness without interrupting workflow.
