3. An industry in transition

The industry is undergoing a profound transformation.

Across the access industry, rental companies, industrial players, and construction firms, are facing a convergence of pressures: rising safety expectations, increasing demands for economic performance, the environmental transition, and growing complexity in equipment management.

4 major challenges

Ensuring safe operations in complex environments

Jobsites are increasingly constrained: co-activity between machines and pedestrians, tight spaces, interventions in sensitive areas. Operational safety is becoming a daily challenge for work-at-height professionals.

This reality remains particularly critical: according to the 2025 IPAF Global Safety Report, 100 fatal accidents related to the use of MEWPs were recorded in 2024.

Maximizing equipment profitability

In a context of squeezed margins, every hour of downtime directly impacts productivity and revenue.

Maximizing uptime, controlling operating costs, and optimizing fleet turnover are at the core of rental companies’ and industrial end-users’ priorities.

Handling downtime & service pressure

Fast response times, spare parts availability, and data-driven maintenance anticipation have become critical operational priorities.

Professionals are looking for solutions that reduce unplanned downtime and ensure continuous operations.

Meeting environmental and societal requirements

Sustainability expectations are intensifying: reducing emissions, integrating ESG criteria, managing the end-of-life of equipment.

Industry players need a partner capable of supporting them in a responsible and sustainable equipment strategy.

CHOOSING AN ACCESS SOLUTION MEANS MORE THAN CHOOSING A MACHINE.

Professionals in the access industry are looking for a partner able to support their operations over the long term through integrated solutions combining equipment, services, and digital tools.

4. Drive confidence: a structured approach

Driven by the ambition to become the best customer experience company in the access industry, Haulotte places customer needs at the heart of its strategy.

In increasingly demanding environments, Haulotte structures its 360° offering around Drive Confidence: an approach built on innovation, designed to support professionals in the access industry in making informed decisions beyond price alone.

Deployed across the entire machine lifecycle, this approach is built around four complementary pillars, reflecting Haulotte’s commitment to delivering reliable, consistent, and long-term support at every stage of the customer experience.

OBSTACLE DETECTION ASSIST: an innovation previewed at APEX

Certain work environments require absolute precision. To meet this challenge, Haulotte has developed Obstacle Detection Assist, a manufacturer-certified solution designed to protect infrastructure and sensitive objects.

This option prevents the risk of collision between the upper part of the MEWP and obstacles in the work area. It provides driving assistance for situations where the operator has poor visibility. This option is particularly suited for maintenance operations in congested environments or near valuable, large, or irregularly shaped objects (aviation, museums).

The option consists of laser and ultrasonic sensors that effectively detect obstacles, strategically positioned on the upper part of the machine.

A dedicated human-machine interface allows the operator to locate the obstacle in real-time and adjust their approach to the work area.
