16ᵗʰ Erbil Build Expo Opens With a Distinguished Ceremony, Uniting Government Bodies and International Industry Leaders

Supported by the Prime Ministry of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the premier construction exhibition marked a highly active first day with extensive ministerial visits, bilateral trade meetings, and strong institutional engagement.

ERBIL, IRAQ — August 27, 2026 — The 16ᵗʰ ERBIL BUILD EXPO (Erbil International Building and Construction Exhibition) officially launched its latest edition today at the Erbil International Fair Ground, marked by an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and an extensive VIP walkthrough. Organized by PYRAMIDS GROUP and EIF under the patronage of the Prime Ministry of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the landmark trade event welcomed high-level participation across regional ministries, public authorities, and commercial syndicates. The exhibition immediately established an active business environment, convening hundreds of international manufacturers, regional contractors, engineering consultants, and procurement authorities.

Official Inauguration & High-Level Government Participation

The opening ceremony underscored the strong alignment between regional public development goals and international commercial expertise. The inaugural walkthrough brought together a distinguished assembly of public-sector solutions, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, Ministry of Electricity, and Ministry of Industry and Minerals, alongside the Office of the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry and the Office of the Deputy Minister of Housing and Reconstruction

The high-profile delegation was further joined by the Governor of Erbil, the Head of the Department of Foreign Relations, the Chairman of the Board of Investment, the Head of Soran Independent Administration, and the Head of Zakho Independent Administration, as well as Directors General representing Trade, Investment, Planning and Reconstruction, and Electricity.

Strengthening the strategic dialogue between governance and commerce, official trade and investment counsellors, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, leadership from the Kurdistan Importers and Exporters Union, Kurdistan Investors Union, and Kurdistan Contractors Union, and executive representatives from Dabin Group also toured the halls alongside international diplomatic missions and senior executives from Pyramids Group and EIF. The delegates conducted an extensive floor inspection, reviewing advanced building technologies, heavy equipment, power infrastructure systems, and modern municipal engineering solutions presented across the venue.

Intensive Commercial Matchmaking on Day 1

From the early hours of the opening, the exhibition floor experienced focused business-to-business activity. Hosting 470 exhibiting companies from 20 countries, Day 1 immediately initiated structured B2B matchmaking sessions, connecting international technology providers directly with regional project directors, authorized distributors, and procurement committees.

Exhibiting brands across structural engineering, MEP systems, finishing technologies, and sustainable architecture reported positive engagement with regional commercial buyers and visiting public-sector representatives seeking long-term supply agreements and technical collaboration for ongoing infrastructure pipelines.
