Develon Adds Fifth Model to New Series 9 Excavator Range  

Develon has launched the new DX300LC-9 32 tonne crawler excavator, the latest addition to the company’s groundbreaking Series 9 Smart Excavator range. Offering the same unique and innovative combination of full electronic hydraulic (FEH) technology and integrated artificial intelligence, the DX300LC-9 is the fifth model to join the Series 9 range. It sits alongside the existing 23 t DX230LC-9, 26 t DX260LC-9, 37 t DX360LC-9 and 42 t DX400HD-9 models.

• Designed with a fully electro-hydraulic control system, replacing traditional mechanical pilot controls, to deliver up to 8% greater fuel efficiency.
• Equipped with smarter, safer solutions including Virtual Walls and Develon E-Stop.
• Updated with new cab lighting and safety components to enhance machine safety for operators and other personnel working on site.

The DX300LC-9 is powered by the Develon DX08 engine providing a net output of 207 kW (278 HP) @ 1800 rpm (SAE J1349) and a maximum torque of 1230 kgf/m @ 1300 rpm, the best engine performance in its class. The DX300LC-9 has a maximum digging depth (std front) of 7305 mm and a maximum digging reach (std front) of 10,530 mm. There is also a super long reach version of the excavator, the DX300SLR-9, which offers a longer reach, one metre longer than the previous DX300SLR-7 model.

As well as its enhanced cab lighting and safety features, the DX300LC-9 utilises the best soundproofing on the market, providing the lowest noise level of only 67 dBA in the 30 tonne segment, an average of 3 dBA less than the other machines on the market. The DX300LC-9 also offers unmatched all round lifting performance in this class, as well as the highest hydraulic flow in the 30 tonne market.

More Ways to Increase Productivity

Like all Series 9 excavators, the DX300LC-9 offers increased lifting power and advanced assistance features, that streamline demanding tasks while keeping operators comfortable.

• Advanced Lift Assist: Displays real-time lifting capacity and warns operators of potential tipping risks. This feature uses a dynamic lifting-force table to highlight hazard zones on slopes and uneven ground.
• Breaker Assist: Prevents blank firing to protect internal components from wear, while the auto breaker setting removes continuous button pressing to reduce hand fatigue.
• Weighing System: Tracks production levels in real time to ensure that dump trucks are loaded quickly, safely and to exact weight limits.
• Customizable Joystick Controls: Simplify movement in tight spaces with stick steer and thumbwheel steering. Operators can personalize controls alongside traditional pedals to match their preferred operating style.

Keeping Jobsites Working Safely

The DX300LC-9 surrounds drivers and their colleagues on site with an active safety shield of AI cameras, radar and automated controls that work together to catch hazards and stop accidents before they happen. The DX300LC-9 includes the following safety features:

• Smart Around View Monitor (SAVM) Camera System and Human Detection System: Six cameras, radar sensors and AI-powered human detection provide a 360-degree view around the machine.
• Develon E-Stop: With the addition of a new radar system that detects objects up to 6 m away, the machine can automatically trigger an intelligent E-Stop to halt the excavator’s swing or travel if a person is detected in the danger zone set at 4 m distance.
• Virtual Walls: Used to set digital boundaries to prevent the excavator boom or bucket from striking overhead power lines or underground obstacles.

Elevating Operator Comfort and Control

The DX300LC-9 excavator takes the guesswork out of complex jobs by wrapping precision guidance, predictive machine health tracking and seamless cab controls into one connected system.

• 12-Inch Smart Touch Screen: High-resolution display with customizable split-screen views manages functions like heating and cooling, selectable power modes and hydraulic flow for attachments. It can be upgraded to a dual-monitor setup to manage up to four functions simultaneously.
• Integrated 2D/3D Machine Guidance: Optional 2D machine guidance and machine control systems take the guesswork out of grading and digging, with full compatibility for optional 3D systems. The 3D systems are required for complex, multi-dimensional and large-scale projects where the jobsite terrain changes continuously.
• Advanced Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) Technology: Optional monitoring tracks the engine oil, hydraulic fluid, main pump and swing motor health to help reduce machine downtime. The premium PHM option adds targeted vibration and pressure sensors for real-time diagnostics on the excavator’s swing motor, main pump and reduction gear.
• Digital Key Convenience: Managed via the My Develon telematics app, a Bluetooth^® digital key allows operators to unlock the cab, start the engine and adjust the air conditioning remotely. No physical key is required.
